On Monday, April 23, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., guest presenter Dr. Ed Macan, professor of Music at CR, will present “National Identity in Music, 1910-40: Three Case Studies-England, Argentina, Mexico,” a lecture/recital that addresses the construction of national identity in music between 1910 and 1940. Focusing on three very different nations – Great Britain, Argentina, and Mexico – it will feature the music of Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gustav Holst, Alberto Ginastera, and Carlos Chavez. This lecture will take place in Creative Arts room 113 on the CR Eureka main campus.
