Doors open at 10 p.m. Cost is $30 at the door and $25 advanced tickets at Morningstar in Arcata, Royal Roots Clothing, inticketing.com, and is 21 and over.

Alborosie, born Alberto D’Ascola in 1977, is a reggae artist born in Sicily, Italy, but now residing in Kingston, Jamaica. He is a multi-instrumentalist, being proficient in guitar, bass, drums and piano. His musical career began in the reggae group Reggae National Tickets when he was 15 years old, in which he was known as Stena. In 2001 Alborosie decided to try a solo career. He moved to Jamaica to be close to reggae music’s roots and rastafari culture. There, he started working as sound engineer and producer working with artists like Gentleman and Ky-Mani Marley. His first solo album was called Soul Pirate. In the summer of 2009 he released his second album called “Escape from Babylon. The music video for the song “Herbalist” was banned in Jamaica because of its depiction of drug dealing. Alborosie’s hits include “Rastafari Anthem”, “Kingston Town”, and “Call Up Jah”. Alborosie recently started his own record label, Forward Recordings. He has given concerts all round the world, including most of Europe and Jamaica.

Born and raised Bay Area Selecta/Promoter, Niko “Beatnok” Pavkovic is I-Vibe’s Jack of all trades… Spanning his music passion since a tender youth, Beatnok’s influence started early with community radio, live shows and music festivals… With an American Mother and a Montenegrin/Serb Father, he carries an old-world philosophy with innovative influence to his musical expression… As Ying is to Yang, Treble is to Bass… Beatnok joined up with San Francisco based Hip Hop Crew, Writerz Guild as resident DJ for all performances and shows. In 2006 he founded the now prevalent San Francisco based I&I Vibration (I-Vibe), a like-minded crew dedicated to the up-lift of the masses through the guidance of music. Known for bassie tracks, rare licks, big tunes and dope grooves, Beatnok is dedicated to riddim like a lizard to a limb, from sharing the bill and stage with artists like Fantan Mojah, The Mighty Diamonds, Don Carlos, Culture, Steel Pulse, The Meditations, Rocker T, to linking up with some of the most noted and best sound systems, DJ’s and MC’s from all 4 courners of the globe.
