Afternoon with the Authors

What:

Local authors, Clint and Ursula Pearson will present a slideshow and discuss their newly released book, Falling, on Saturday, June 27 at 2:00 at the Eureka Main Library. Described as “part outdoor adventure; part medical drama and part love story,” their memoir tells the story of learning to understand and respect the experience of living creatively will illness through personal experience.

Clint Pearson was an athletic outdoorsman when he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a nerve disease that tends to gradually take away people’s ability to control their own muscles. Ursula, a South African of East Indian descent, grew up under the shroud of apartheid. Their differences were extreme but so too was their love for each other. She has stayed by his side and provided the support to help him maintain his busy schedule as a family practice physician and infectious diseases specialist at Del Norte Community Health Services. Further information on the Pearsons and their memoirs can be found at www.fallingdoc.com.

This program is open to the public and free of charge. The Humboldt County Library is located at 1313 Third Street in Eureka.
