The American Association of University Women advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. AAUW seeks and welcomes a diverse membership, certainly not limited to women but with the requisite of a 2- or 4-year college/university degree or equivalent training.
Saturday, October 3, 2009
Eureka B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge
445 Herrick Avenue, Eureka (Parking on the premises)
9:30-10:00 Registration, social and coffee time
10:00-10:15 Brief meeting/Announcements
10:15 - Program - provided by Simona Keat, County Office of Education Coordinator of the Gang Risk Intervention Program.
Simona will give an inside look at students in school, in transit, on the internet and at home, and how Challenge Day works. Bullying goes on from face-to-face to cyberspace. We will have a chance to learn of programs that heal and bring civility.
The public is welcome to attend these monthly meetings, but a reservation is required; the cost this month is $20.00, which includes the lovely buffet luncheon and rental fee.
