7th Annual Surf4Peace Competition

What:

Surf4Peace is Humboldt County’s first and only non-profit surf contest. S4P was created to bring the Humboldt County surf and beach community together to benefit coastal and environmental sustainability . Last year’s contest took place on Saturday, October 10th 2009 at Trinidad State Beach! This year will be at the same place on Saturday, September 25 2010!

Surf4Peace donates all of its proceeds to a non profit organization every year that is geared towards peaceful and/or environmental action. This year S4P proceeds will benefit the Humboldt Surfriders Foundation in Arcata. Previous years S4P benefitted the Humboldt Surfriders Foundation, the Redwood Peace and Justice Center, reefrelief.org and the Northcoast Environmental Center. These donations helped to keep our beaches and ocean clean and to promote peaceful awareness and action in our community.

Contest and community event activities include:
- Local food and vendors
- Skateboard demo & ramp
- Beach yoga class by Oshun Yoga
- Dance performances

Please check back with our website regularly for updates on fundraisers, parties and more surf 4 peace activities!
