Garberville 4th of July Community Picnic and Fireworks Display

Come join us for the Annual Garberville/Redway Area Chamber of Commerce Family 4th of July Picnic and Firework Display. This event will take place again at the Benbow Lake State Recreation Area on Monday, July 4th. Gates open at 8am, activities & booths start at 3pm and the fun doesn’t end until the firework light up the sky around 10pm. Come early and enjoy Benbow Lake, the day activities and Grande Finale the PyroSpectacular Fireworks Display. Those wishing to make a donation towards the fireworks cost can call Dee Way at 923-2613 or just send your donation to PO Box 445, Garberville, CA 95542. Ray’s in Garberville will be hosting benefit BBQs on Friday, July 1st and Saturday July 2nd so be sure to stop and buy some of Chuck’s delicious BBQ.
The chamber offers this event as an opportunity for other non-profits to raise funds and this year Boosters will be serving hotdogs, hamburgers and drinks, the Soroptimist will have pizza and corn, Kiwanas is offering pulled pork sandwiches and other treat, The Mateel will have yummy homemade baked good along with coffee & tea, The chamber is also making available beer, wine, and margaritas for those over 21 and glow sticks and LED merchandise for all ages.
Parking will be available free outside the event, inside Benbow Lake State Recreation Area parking will be sold prior to the event and will be limited. Parking passes are $30 and available at the Chamber office. For those looking to avoid the sometimes tricky parking situation a $2 shuttle will be available from Garberville and Redway and 2 shuttles will be making return trips after the show.
Children’s activities organized by the Lehman family will offer the little ones fun throughout the day. Live Music will be playing in the evening.
Come join us for a fun filled day of Swimming, Sunbathing, Relaxing, and enjoying each others company that will culminate with a magnificent display of fireworks this 4th of July. Admission is only $7 for adults and kids 2-11 $3, under 2 is free!
For the safety of all and to keep within the State Parks Guidelines no pets, glass containers, fireworks, alcohol or drugs will be allowed in the park. Park Rangers, CDF, Local Fire Departments, Highway Patrol and other security will be on hand to insure this is a safe and secure family event.
