What:
The 60 plus singers and instrumentalists of the Ferndale Community Choir invite you to a Christmas concert that has become a tradition for many families. Since 1970, under the direction of Betty Diehl, the choir has showcased traditional music together with new and exciting arrangements. This year’s Christmas Celebration in Song is choral music at its most festive, featuring a rousing African Noel, a haunting Out of the Orient Crystal Skies and a powerful arrangement of Hark the Herald Angels Sing. The choir is accompanied by the talented pianist, Dana Christen, and Beverly Carlson will also conduct.
The spirit of the choir is fostered by those who have sung for many years, and new members who come together their joy of singing. Singers and musicians of all ages come from McKinleyville to Hydesville to Ferndale for several months of rehearsals to learn and polish challenging music.
The Ferndale Community Choir will offer its first performance of its Christmas Celebration in Song at the Ferndale Community Church, 712 Main Street, Ferndale on Saturday, December 3rd at 8:00 pm. A reception will follow the performance.
The second performance will be on Sunday, December 4th at 3:00 pm at Church of the Assumption at 546 Berding Street in Ferndale. Many concert-goers often go on after the concert to Ferndale’s annual lighting of America’s Tallest Living Christmas Tree at the foot of Main Street at 5:30 pm.
The final performance will be given on Sunday, December 11th at 3:00 pm at the Fortuna Christmas Musi
