Wood Fair 2011

What:

This year, for the first time, WoodFair offers special recognition awards in the Master Division, in addition to the traditional divisions for Novice and Fine Woodworker. The Humboldt Woodworking Society is seeking master woodworkers, both professional and amateur, to enter the WoodFair 2011 exhibition. Their hope is to provide inspiration to the community by showing examples of the extraordinary woodworking that goes on here on the North Coast. Furniture makers, other artists who work with wood, and all master woodworkers are invited to submit recent works. Of the cash prizes available, entries in the Master Division are eligible for the Best of Show, Most Creative, and Best Use of Local Hardwood awards.
WoodFair’s Exhibition offers cash prizes totaling over $5000. These include $400 each for Best of Show, Most Creative, and Best Use of Local Hardwood, in addition to First ($250), Second ($200) and Third ($150) place awards in each of the following categories for the Fine Woodworking Division: Fine Furniture; Cabinetry and Casework; Woodturning; Sculpture and Carving; and All Other Woodworking. There will also be First ($250), Second ($200) and Third ($150) place awards in the Novice Division. Entry to the Novice Division is FREE! Judging criteria are posted online at www.HumboldtWoodFair.org.
