Trick or Treat On & Around the Plaza

Sunday, October 31st

3 pm to 5 pm• On & Around the Arcata Plaza

In the spirit of Halloween, Arcata Main Street presents Trick or Treat On & Around the Plaza on Sunday, October 31from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Arcata. This year’s event will include a costume parade around the Arcata Plaza lead by SambAmore, DJ Stir Fry Willie spinning Halloween hits in the center of the Plaza, two costume contests for the kids, treats at participating stores and a Halloween storefront, window display contest.

The four streets surrounding the Arcata Plaza will be closed to vehicular traffic from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., so all the ghosts and goblins are free to roam the streets or to trick or treat around the Plaza.

Downtown businesses will be participating in this safe and family-fun event by providing candy and treats for all the trick or treaters and will have their doors open to all the pumpkins, animals, superheroes, fairies and witches that may want stop by and say Boo!

Kids can enter two Halloween Costume Contests that will take place at Humboldt Outfitters, located at 860 G Street. Humboldt Outfitters will hold a costume contest for ages 0 to 5. Plaza Design, located at 808 G Street, will also hold a costume contest for ages 6 to 12. The winners will receive prizes from the downtown merchants and all the participants will receive a certificate from Bon Boniere and a t-shirt from Humboldt Outfitters.

The parade of ghosts, characters and superheroes will be led by SambAmore beginning at 4:30 p.m. around the Arcata Plaza.

Humboldt Outfitters will be making Halloween trick or treat bags for participants to purchase for the event.

Call Arcata Main Street for more information about the Trick or Treat On & Around the Plaza at 822-4500.

Come down to the square in costume and help us infuse the downtown with the Halloween spirit when Arcata Main Street goes live!
