Percussive, body-inflictive Afrobeat and funk grooves. We are a new group in Humboldt county comprised of members Bump Foundation, Bloco Firmeza, Moo-Got-2, and several Humboldt State ensembles. We play extremely heavy Afrobeat, popularized by Fela Anikulapo-Kuti in the 1970's in Nigeria. The mix is Amercian jazz and funk fused with the rhythms of traditional west-African music.
