The film that could quite possibly be the greatest feature that Disney has ever created comes to our theaters this Friday. Yes, Hannah Montana The Movie, has officially made it to our neck of the woods. Miley Cyrus stars as teen queen Hannah Montana, whose alter ego, Miley Cyrus, gets bummed about Hannah’s popularity and decides to go on some kind of trip to rediscover Miley’s roots. Should be a hit for the kiddies. Billy Ray Cyrus and Vanessa Williams are on the bill too. Rated G. 102m. At the Broadway, Fortuna and Mill Creek.
The next film up on the list is Observe and Report, yet another comedy about the travails of a mall security guard. Seth Rogen plays the bipolar head of security that must crack the case of who done been flashing people at the mall, and Ray Liotta plays the real deal detective counterpart. What’s with the mall cop comedies? Rated R for pervasive language, graphic nudity, drug use sexual content and violence. 86m. At the Broadway and Mill Creek.
James Wong directs Dragonball Evolution, an action film based on a Japanese novel written by Akira Toriyama. Justin Chatwin stars as Son Goku, a young warrior who must battle vengeful King Piccolo. Goku needs seven magical orbs to win. Madness. Rated PG for intense sequences of action, violence and brief mild language. 84m. At the Broadway.
Last opener for us this week is The Class, a French film that follows a single collège (junior high or middle school) class in a tough, multiethnic Parisian neighborhood for a year. Director Laurent Cantet made the film out of improvised takes of real students and their teacher. In French with English subtitles. Rated PG-13 for language. 128m. At the Minor.

Review
ADVENTURELAND: When I first saw Jesse Eisenberg in Roger Dodger (which is a great movie, no matter what your pastor or gynecologist tells you), I thought, “This guy is gonna be a star.” I simultaneously thought that his career was over, because everyone I think is going to make it big winds up getting supporting roles in blaxploitation movies and then opening a car dealership in Boca.
