Yet Another Poem from the Arcata Marsh
(Jan. 15, 2009) The way those solitary egrets pose for pictures … does that not strike you as being a bit vain? I mean, I know they work for the Chamber of Commerce, and are only doing their job; still, don’t you suspect they secretly enjoy doing it? It’s a small thing, perhaps, but it is not the major flaw which causes the problem. It is the minor one, that at first you can overlook, but over time becomes so annoying it leads to divorce.
