From the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office:

On 06-8-2012, the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office received a 911 open line from the Palco Pharmacy, Scotia at approximately 1:20 p.m. The dispatcher could not hear any voices, but did hear phones ringing in the background, there was no voice on the line. The dispatcher advised Sheriff units to begin heading to the Pharmacy to conduct a Welfare Check. The dispatcher was able to make contact with the Pharmacy and was told they had just been robbed by a male with a full length black shotgun. The male demanded “Oxycodone” and appeared very agitated, demanding the staff move faster. The suspect is described as follows:
A white male adult, mid twenties, approximately 5’ 7” tall, approximately 150 pounds, brown hair, wearing a reddish brown heavy shirt with a hood, blue jeans. The suspect had the hood over his head, which covered up a baseball cap that he was wearing. He was carrying a black and yellow or blue backpack.

The suspect was last seen on foot, heading southwest on Main Street, Scotia.

Scotia Elementary School heard about the robbery and self imposed a lock down, until they were contacted by law enforcement. The Fortuna Police department and Rio Dell Police Department assisted with searching the area for the suspect.
