This just in from the folks at the Mateel re: the concert by Chirgilchin, The Master Throat Singers Of Tuva :

The Mateel Community Center’s Membership Appreciation Night which was originally scheduled for this Friday, October 16th has been cancelled.  Unfortunately the visas for the Tuvan throat singers were denied and their tour has subsequently been cancelled.  Plans are currently in the works to reschedule (hopefully in November sometime), but the date is not confirmed yet.  We will make an announcement as soon as we know the make up date.  We apologize for any inconvenience.  People with questions should call the Mateel office at 923-3368 or send an email to [email protected].
