Humboldt Scores $639,179 from Farm Bill

Humboldt Scores $639,179 from Farm Bill: The Federal Farm Bill includes $54 million in funding for something called the Conservation Partnership Initiative (CCPI) administered by the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service. Humboldt County did OK, scoring $300,000 for Western United Dairymen to develop nutrient management plans on dairies in Humboldt and Del Norte counties; $300,000 to Yager/Van Duzen Environmental Stewards for controlling sediment and improving water quality in prioritized parts of Humboldt watersheds, and $39,179 to Mattole Restoration Council for improving ecological sustainability of ranch and non-industrial private forest operations in Humboldt and Mendocino
