This came in to the Journal news dept. today:

Bruno and Dimmick Announce Agreement

Carol Bruno of People Productions LLC and the Dimmick Ranch have reached a mutually agreeable arrangement to transfer the principle assets and liabilities of the Reggae Rising Music Festival to the Dimmick Ranch.  While no longer involved with Reggae Rising, Carol Bruno and People Productions LLC will continue to promote and produce other music events.  Within the next week Reggae Rising 2009 will be announcing tickets on sale for what is sure to be the summer’s most massive reggae/world music lineup. Stay tuned to www.reggaerising.com for all of the details.

What does it mean? For the first time in history, Carol Bruno, who founded Reggae on the River, which after a bitter SoHum community-dividing battle became Reggae Rising, is not booking Humboldt's biggest concert this year.

It's actually a belated announcement. While the details were recently finalized, Bruno and Tom Dimmick made an agreement in principle last summer, before Reggae Rising 2008, that Tom would buy Carol out.

There are undoubtedly complex behind the scenes machinations they caused the delay in announcing this paradigm shift. Those who frequent SoHum's notorious rumor mill will be churning out scenarios soon enough. Feel free to make up you own. And try to see if you can work in the word, "unity."
